AI training job application guide
Use a role page to orient yourself, then use the employer or ATS posting as the authority for availability, eligibility, compensation, and any screening steps.
Read the work before you prepare
Evaluation work usually asks for careful judgments about outputs against a rubric. Annotation commonly asks you to label or structure examples consistently. RLHF or preference work can ask you to compare responses and explain a choice. Domain-expert work should name the subject knowledge or professional context it needs. Match examples from your own work to the stated task instead of assuming one category has the same screening as another.
Check eligibility language closely
Residence, work location, citizenship, and applicant origin are different claims. A source can name one without establishing the others. Treat a source-check message as a reason to open the original posting, not as permission to infer global eligibility. Read language, equipment, hours, and regional requirements alongside the role description.
Read pay without converting it
Keep the source’s rate period and qualifiers: hourly, project, monthly, annual, maximum, or range. A dollar sign without an explicit currency stays ambiguous. Do not convert an hourly figure into annual pay, or treat a range as a guarantee. Read the original posting for the current payment terms.
Prepare useful evidence
Bring concise, truthful examples that map to the requirements: a portfolio or work sample where requested, a short description of relevant domain work, language or locale experience, and examples of careful written reasoning. Avoid uploading material the source does not request.
Before you apply
- Re-open the employer or ATS posting and confirm that the role, eligibility language, and requested materials are current.
- Verify the employer before sharing bank or identity information. Be wary of requests for money or personal information before an interview; the FTC job-scam alert describes these warning signs.
- Use only the permitted application flow and provide a sample only when the employer requests one.
Role-to-evidence worksheet
Use this short note before applying; it is not an application form.
Prompts by role family
- Language: Which stated language, locale, or audio judgment requirement can you evidence?
- Domain: Which subject-matter qualification or professional context does the source ask for?
- Coding: Which requested code, debugging, tool, or technical-reasoning evidence is relevant?
- Evaluation: Which stated rubric, review, or written-judgment requirement can you address?
For each role, write
- Requirement quoted from source
- Relevant evidence
- Permission to share a sample
- Questions to clarify
Use the original external application flow
- Open the role detail page and compare its source-backed facts with your experience.
- Select the external Apply link; it preserves the original supplied destination.
- On the employer or ATS site, verify the role’s current status, application fields, and any assessment instructions before submitting.
Check the source-check date shown on the role page. HireFeed does not make hiring or availability promises. Be cautious of fees or payment requests that are not part of the employer’s published process; use the official source to verify anything unexpected.
